Lee Whittington
This is a brief history of myself, Lee Whittington, Eltham
/ UK warriors coach.
I am from a Karate Background and successfully achieved Black
Belt status at the age of 16. I was training at the age of
10 with Austin Wilcox from the Malaysian style of Karate,
Southern Henka Ryu. I then at the age of 17 began to train
in Mugendo Kickboxing with Head Coach Steve Cannon from the
Panther gym which is currently still up and running and run
by Instructor Lee Jones. I achieved my Black belt in Mugendo
Kickboxing at the age of 19.
After training and competing in Point Karate, Semi Contact
Kickboxing and Full Contact Kickboxing I began to look for
more of an effective system of training and fighting. I began
Thai Boxing with Andy Mayo and trained at the Kings gym for
two years, fighting and training with a top squad of fighters.
After a couple of years I moved around the gyms in London
training at Sean Toomey's Lumpini gyms. I also went to Thailand
to further my insight and skills in Thai Boxing. In 1993 I
enrolled in an ABA Coach's course whilst helping out coaching
at the Samuel Montague Boxing Club in London. I became an
England ABA Boxing Coach after 2 years and trained under Terry
Edwards {England National Squad coach} and Paddy Harmey whom
are both great trainers in Amateur Boxing.
I am a professional trainer by trade and provide training
for corporate and government industries in Performance Management.
I have also been training within the security industry for
7 years in Conflict Management, Dealing with Disruptive Passenger's
and Challenging Behaviour.
I am currently dividing my time between the Eltham gym and
Herne Bay gym in Kent. I am also the Training and Development
Manager for the Martial Arts Sports Commission {MASC}. We
currently provide a number of courses for the Martial arts
coach. Master Ronnie Greene and myself are implementing courses
all over the UK for Thai and Kickboxing coach's and are pleased
with the positive feedback from the beginner to the most experienced
Coach. See training courses for more information.
